Looky what came to my shop this week for an alignment..
Fresh from a major two year resto.
1971 Super Bee.
383/727 column shift,8-3/4 rear,bench seat.
Light group,AM/FM radio,wheel lip moldings.
Owner added the Ralleye wheels since he preferred them over the original steel wheel/dog dishes.

This car is a bit of an oddball with the GY8 paint color and green plain jane interior.
She is not quite fully finished yet but she has never looked or ran ad good in many years.

I have known about this car since 2001.
Turns out the owner had owned it for many years.
Back in the 80's or 90's he had the numbers matching 383 and 727 rebuilt.
It was never driven after that since he handed the car over to a body shop.
It sat there for many years in the compound waiting its turn to get done.
A local Charger enthusiast got two of his cars painted at the same shop and asked about the battered 'Bee.
Turns out the shop was leary of working on it.Typical of most shops that do nott specialize in older car restorations, with no connections or networks in locating rare vintage parts and sheetmetal They admired the guys work on his own Chargers.
They asked him if he could take over the project.
Before he could say "no" the 'Bee was floated to his house!!
After talking to the owner, the enthusiast felt compelled to take on the tired street warrior.

Al,the owner of this car, knew the potential of the old Bee way back when he bought it used over 25 years ago.
Points restoration or concours or factory correct are not a concern here--just a strong running machine that looks good at the local cruise nights..
Under the hood,it is the 80's all over again....Big Accel coil, orange wires, headers, single plane intake, and chrome air cleaner.

I would like to thank Al and Barry for trusting me and my employees to work on this unique piece of Mopar history.

LOL! Thanks Al!! Hope you don't mind.
If you have a problem,PM me and I will politely delete the thread.

But this thread is more about your car than my shop.
She is after all a rare and unique Super Bee.

I love the story behind your car and--if willing-- please share it with all of us here!!
I know I may have left out or mixed up some details.
With respect,
Leaburn
