Alternators and bracket kits? My Alternator recently detached from the block, The new spacers don’t fit, Should I add washers to make the spacers fit?

Been a while since i have posted, since my rebuild. Car was running like wind! Until recently, the Alternator detached from the block, I reinstalled it with no spacer, and drove it home. The New spacer’s i ordered for the alternator dont fit, Has anyone added washer’s to make up the difference’s? Also due to the Alternator coming detached from the block, this may have messed up my belt tension and or pulley? cause now the Engine knocks and runs off after shutting down and i have a new chirp sound when acceleration.
Im just wondering if I should take it in to get fixed at this point. Instead of troubleshooting myself.
I have no clue why the alternator came detached from the block? The threads don’t seemed stripped or anything? Maybe the nuts and bolts were not tight to begin with (I did not install) and they were installed a few years ago. I checked recently and did find one loose and tightened it near the belt etc. Im also looking to get a new alternator at some point, any recommendations -PowerMaster?

Could be belt squeal. How tight are they? Buy some belt dressing spray to see if it fixes it.
I'm sure I'm not the only shade tree guy to use washers as spacers on occasion if you don't have the tools to cut down a spacer to fit.
And it probably just worked loose/wasn't tight
 
Alternator locking up?
 
As far as your question on washers for spacers,sure you can.
Also, a local hardware store may have bushing type verity of spacers.
Our local Ace or True Value stocks many sizes.
 
It’s better, going to cut the spacer and and install this week. maybe spray the belt. thanks again for your help.
