Lately, I have been working on my 70 Charger R / T V code 440 Sixpack car. I have been trying to get the car in decent shape to sell it. The car is really starting to look like something!
I was watching an episode of Roadkill the other night, and I had a batshit crazy idea. I got the idea to put a driveline in the car,and drive it next season, and possibly drive it to Carlisle, Roadkill style! So what should I do,stay on track, and get the car ready for Ebay, or put it together, and drive it! It has the matching numbers engine block in the car,but it needs to be built. My original plan was to build the original engine with a Source stroker kit and Source heads. Thats not in the budget, but I have a fresh 68 short block and heads for another project that I could throw together, and drop it in the car. I have a poly front end kit,a new gas tank and lines, new front brakes and lines,an 18 spline Hemi 4 speed setup, and a Dana 60 with new R/T leaf springs. I would have to buy a clutch, pressure plate and flywheel, and a new set of Sixpack carbs, but it's all stuff that I need for the other car anyway. I just bought an engine wiring harness for a 70 B body with electronic ignition, so I would also need a distributor and box too. But for a couple grand, I could be driving it next season. Have I lost my mind,or is doing something like this what it's all about. A ratrod V code Charger R / T is not something that you see everyday!
