dudes....just incase anyone gives a damn, i have been working non-stop on the new javelin, and what im finding is they are ALOT like our Mopars. use the same relays, wire connectors , leaf spring parts (bushings). i was surprised at how much they are comparable. i took some pix for Hagerty today and thought i would post them so you can see the progress....i dunno how much trouble im gonna get in for posting Javelin pix....but being me... im sure ill get a few demerits or "infractions"

didnt do much to the outside but wash it and get crud off of the glass...but the new carpet is in and the plastic panels are all done except the dash area. you can see on the "A" pillar (did not do anything to it yet ) against the dash restored door panel vs. dash... came out great and little by little, its gonna be a new car again just like the Belvy and Road Runner !.....enjoy!:hello2:

AMC had some original parts organic to them, often they bought MOPAR and GM stuff for their vehicles. Not too much of Ford stuff if I recall correctly. Some of their organic engines; the 4.0 liter straight 6 went straight to Chrysler -- and they used it forever in their Jeeps.

you said we can demerit you so i am sorry but iam going to do it, i know you wont care as you like the car, but i think they are the ugliest car ever made, sort of look a bit like one of those old hondas.

seeeeee D, i toooooooooooold you da AMC is a MoPar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

great work!!

Better lookin' than the steelers new uniforms. Now those are fugly.

AMC are great cars and some of the most under rated cars by a lot of MOPAR guys. I really like the Jav man great looking car. I love to own one or a two seater one would be an awesome ride.

I bet you can't wait for winter to be over and the crusing season to begin.

I guess that you either love 'em or hate 'em, but I've always liked them. Have fun with your new ride.

AMC and Chrysler where close manufacturers for years. They where business friends. Chrysler owned part of amc for years. Then boughtthem all together.

Well, I see it like this. By now you are family so even if you posted pics of a 77 Camaro you just bought I wouldn't care.

Look like a nice job and I'm glad to see another relic of automotive history being preserved.

good luck dog

neat car dog. that model amc was catchy with the styling. the spoiler effect of the roof line at the back window was classic. :headbang:

as for posting pic's of it on here, who cares. its all about the big picture, old cars. my shop has all breed's in it but there are some people who are **** about cross breeding. i for one prefer this site over the other brands sites because the people on here are friendlier and there is a lot of knowledge on here. if the purists on here can't appreciate looking at pic's like you just posted, tuff luck. :angryfire:

actually there have been times when i wanted to ask a couple of ??'s about another breed on here just because i know some of the guy's on here would know the answer. lots of knowledge.

what power is in it and what was available

I remember I had to use a GM tool to get the window cranks off my '70 Javelin.

This was mine just before I put the mags back on for the summer.

Loved the looks of those Javelins but if I remember right they had a real issue with those big heavy doors hanging off door posts made of too-thin metal.

Call it what you will Dog, Looking at it, it sure looks sweet! inside and out and by the sound of things your enjoying it and as said, another part of history preserved. Keep us updated.. Its a nice ride!

thanx for the interest guys. it has a 304 in it,,,nothing exciting. 904 tranny. like i said b4...the dash hasnt been touched yet. but the door panels, sail panels etc. are finished. i added the orange stripe inside coz it was too black in there. i got a ton of stuff from ebay already, and bidding on another ton of stuff. this stuff is hard to find for these cars , and will probably take alot longer to restore just for that reason.

i fell in love with the body style of these cars at an early age....40 years later i finally got one. i call it a poor mans Corvette. this car is ANOTHER electrical nightmare....i got one of those laminated wiring diagrams being theres so much electrical work.

for the record...ill NEVER come on here with a Camaro (vomit). Camaros and I have this HATE/ HATE relationship !
