American health care

Anymore I treat the medical "professionals"? like a general grease monkey. That diploma on your wall doesn't mean you actually learned how to treat people just because you copied off someone else's homework. Lots of dumb, lazy "pro's" out there. When all they want to do is throw meds at you instead of figuring out what the problem is, and using their head for something besides a hat rack, it's time to find another "mechanic". Why is it people expect perfection out of their car repair and can't get the same with the "medical profession"? Maybe if they, and ambulance chasers, had to take care of comebacks like in the auto world, they might get their feces together.
Helluva question on “comebacks”, often wondered that myself. Maybe ‘Geff ’ could answer that one.

You have to stand up to these people. If he thinks he's better than you, he needs to go, period. I've sat at the round table with doctors that are really proud of themselves and I will guarantee you they have their share of inabilities.

For as long as I have been seeing Docs, both in the civilian world and through the Military/VA, many of the Docs have just stated, take this med/pill, and moved on. Sadly, our society has become a "Take this pill, and hope it either goes away," or you get better mentality. I also mean that every commercial these days one sees on the Boob Tube is for some sort of medication, which may cause you bodily and health harm/damage, these huge pharmaceutical conglomerates push at every instance. We are nothing but a drug culture and society. Add to that the illegal drugs that are killing more and more, and it is no wonder we are so addicted...Enough already!!! cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

This makes me appreciate my primary care doctor even more. She is a proponent of lifestyle modifications before medications, but is pretty sharp about tweaking meds to get the desired result with the minimum of drugs. She also goes outside the rails to see her regular patients on short notice if the need arises, the trick is to call day of, and schedule a late afternoon visit, she can double book.

I was impressed when I met her for the first time on a DOT physical, which is a minimal, closely scripted event. She addressed two issues not related to my certification, never had that happen before. She obviously cared about her patients, and was anything but a hack. I hope she doesn't burn out from working under a corporate health care provider.
