I have the older grind of this cam, the SER3642....I bought it last march thinking it was the lastest, and greatest, then i noticed like 3 weeks later, that new grinds came out, and they updated all their hydraulic rollers.
i was going to install it, two weeks ago but as i was inspecting it, i found a really weird defect.
the area around the fuel pump pushrod eccentric has a huge fillet, i sent this pic to them, and after a day or so, they emailed me to tell me that this for sure is a defect, so i sent this back to them.
this cam in a stout 440 should get you in the high 10s. i dont know what you want to know about it, but im not sure im even gonna use this cam when i get it back, i have already bought a Lunati roller to keep my build going.
this is my take on this situation: Hughes dosnt "make" thier cams, they are all Black label from mystery grinders. its cool that they are gonna fix this cam and pay shipping at no charge, but they are going to send it back to "their cam grinder" and frankly at that point i think there is just too many people involved in this situation. (mainly people i dont know anything about)
i dont think this product is so much superior to other offerings to justify the price, the wait, and the drama ive gone through.
if i buy a Comp or Lunati, and a problem arises, i just deal with the manufacturer, and thats just fine with me.
