Another Montana Howdy

Well I have been lurking here for a couple years, figured I should introduce myself. I must admit I have always been a Ford man, but think I now have the Mopar bug. I picked up a 1966 Plymouth Belvedere II wagon. It has a 318 Poly. Pretty original car, 48,*** original miles, no rust. I wasn't a huge fan when I first got it on a trade, but dang if it hasn't grown on me, and now I can't get enough of these mopar wagons. I originally was gonna restomod/ratrod it out. But can't bring myself to molest such a low mile original car. So I plan on building the poly, or maybe a 426. Would love a hemi wagon.

Also glad you finally spoke up and you scored quite a cool wagon. Poly headed engine have been getting a lot of print around here lately so if you need suggestions or help there's folks here who know them ... but you've probably seen the same thing. Anyway welcome!

Thanks for the welcome.
My plan is to make it a sleeper, keep interior and body stock as is, and probably build the poly
as stout as possible. I have been doing research on poly builds and see some guys gettin pretty
impressive power, especially torque which is what Im after. I already swapped intake out for an iron
older 4 barrel and put an eddy 1406 on top.
Can anyone tell me how to id the rearend, and what gears are in it?
I assume its an 8 3\4, but want to double check.
