I heard somewhere that Williams might be permanently replaced by either Lester Holt or Matt Lauer. I don't watch a lot of network "news" and Holt seems OK, but I can't I can't stand Matt Lauer.

Probably the best newsman of our time was Walter Cronkite. He presented the facts without embellishment. None of us knew what a screamin liberal he was until he retired. A true professional, he kept his own leanings out of the news. Never see that again. I agree about Matt Lauer. He is a maggot.

Walter Cronkite was a lefty also. He admitted it.
He's a big reason why the public turned against the Vietnam war. He came back from the Tet Offensive in 68 and said we can't win this war... and that was it.... that's all Abbie Hoffman needed to hear.... Yippie let's march on Washington.
Why the media feels they have to interject their personal opinion is beyond me.
Today it's all about the drama.
As far as Brian Williams.... I NEVER liked him... that whiny voice of his was like nails on a chalk board and he was always playing the drama. He needs to go away!
