I have read other humorous posts about what some creative mechanics have done to vehicles and wanted to give you all a chuckle or groan when you see this one. It is a 1972 Satellite that I'm getting back on the road.

All I could figure out is they welded the metal on to maybe prevent bottoming on speed bumps. They are too high to drag them and make a spark show on pavement. Could not be to add strength. Already cut one off before taking pics.

All I can think of is some mind altering chemicals going on.

Jack points lol

maybe that's one of the points where they mounted the ski's for the winter?

Those are air channels to cool the rear brake drums.

Side skirts for a ground-effects mod that got grounded.

ya Kid, tell me about it. I cant remember where I got those, but I cried in my beer that nite lol

fork lift points for putting it upstairs lol

We have a Winner.

If the welded in metal was not there, the tranny pan and driveline could be damaged if the car was lifted by a long forklift.

Uhhhh what the hell was all that? Maybe they wanted a place so they could use their scissor jack from their Volvo. What some people do or think will never be known because I wouldn't even dare to ask the owner for fear I may start laughing at him & piss them off.
