Antifreeze Leaking From Under Dash Passenger Side

When you pull it out of the firewall rotate it forward as it comes down and it's a lot easier to get out of there.

Not sure what "forward means in this case BUT ...

Rotate it towards you so a) nothing pours out the tubes and b) so the tabs and studs don't get hung up on the firewall insulation. I'm sure you'll figure it out quick enough.

Well I got that heater box out, what is the thing mounted to the top of the glove box?

This is the heater core that was leaking...........I am going to try and clean the housing up. Not sure if I should take it to the local radiator shop to have it cleaned up or just do it myself.......

These are the two new heater cores I have, one is an NOS one and the other is from Glen Ray, I ordered a new gasket set. Did you guys replace the blower motor?

I just did my 4th heater box, and only the last one's blower motor was bad. You shouldn't have a hard time finding one, if yours doesn't test good.

It’s worth while going through the blower motor. Mine worked but I decided to disassemble it anyway.. good thing I did, was a bit rusty with age and also a bit noisy. I cleaned it up and lubbed the bushings and it runs much much better now. Easy to do once the box is on a workbench.

I do have a local radiator shop that I have used before, I did talk to Glen Ray this morning they said they are already used to doing the heater cores so that is also an option. I am going to work on getting the heater box removed hopefully this weekend.

I did talk with Glen Ray , they would not give me a price until they took a look at it. I am sure the shipping would be considerable it is pretty big.

Pictures, as promised. Again, this is from a '70 E-Body, but you get the idea. Soap and water, Scotch Brite and small wire brushes. (Or sandblast, if you feel like going that far.) Then matte clear or similar on the metal.

I started cleaning up the heater box back panel this morning...

After cleaning the metal surface I applied the Rust Reformation as a primer and then applied Matt Clear

The heater core from Glen Ray ended up being a problem, seems the mounting piece was backwards so we used the NOS heater core. Got everything back together and tested it out. I have heat and no leaks so far as I can tell........Used this can of adhesive spray on the foam

I did end up replacing the blower motor, I did test the old one and it was still working but replaced it anyway.......

I am sure it was, that is why it still works. Most of the new parts are garbage......
