Any computer techs here on the board?

Have a 2 TB external with alot of saved files. I ran a backup onto to it and now the files will not show.
Are they deleted????????:BangHead:

so what is missing, what was on the 2tb drive or the files you backed up.

generally speaking, you will not overwrite a file unless it has the exact same name.

plus backed files will not be removed unless the backup succeeds.

so, those files are there, just cannot see them. My guess is a permissions issue.

i dont think i would delete anything at this point till you figure this out....?
Ain't that the truth.

I deleted pictures from my Samsung phone a few years ago....by mistake.
Found out the hard way that there is NO recovery of the photos possible. All those little pricks out there in the innerweb will try and tell you it's possible, but it is not.

Think i remember the name of the HD is Passport or My Passport.
try this, grab your fone, and take a pic of the screen showing all your harddrives.

on win 10,click settings,then system,then storage.
this will bring up a short list scroll down to Other storage.
click that.
click View on other storage drives <,it will show every hd you have working in the pc.
take the pic.
share it and lets see if we can find your hd.
heres mine as an example.
