Don't know if I replied here or not, but member of Jeep Forum with same user name. Had numerous over the years, CJ's YJ's TJ's Comanche, XJ's.
Bet you will be hard pressed to find a custom like i made

What's the difference between them body wise? Had 98 TJ for about a year. I'm not a Jeep guy and didn't care for it. The hard top got busted up in a slow rollover and the soft top was louder than hell at 60. Ran good though with the 4.0 even with 250+k miles on it.
 
The tj has some styling differences noticeable in the grill but the major thing is the suspension. The cjs use leaf springs while the tj use coil springs. The tj also has more modern interior as opposed to cjs spartan utilitarian design.

Yup, had coils and was fully loaded with just about everything available from the factory including carpeting.

quite a bit differences, placement of gear box, cowl section, basically looks similar, but everything dimensionaly different
 
When I was a younger man I drove my cj everywhere anytime. It didn't matter where, on vacation in the mountains or to the beach,all up and down the east.
Now about 4 hours is enough, roughly 200miles or so before I need a break.
My wife's jl... drive it all day
