I deployed with the 2nd Battalion 37th Armor Regiment during Operation Iraqi 2004-2005. I love me some tanks especially seeing the damage they can do first hand.
 
The Muzzle Brake, mounted on the front of the cannon barrel, deflects a portion of the muzzle blast rearward, which gives the barrel a forward push and reduces the amount of recoil & shock imparted on the weapon . . .
