The mail system is so messed up anymore, UPS, DHL, Amazon packages are being dumped off at the post office which makes everything slower. The other day the mailman delivered UPS, DHL, Amazon and the regular mail all at the same time. In some ways this is already like a third world country.......

You may think that is bad but now that I am retired, I see all the different delivery trucks coming to my house. We had 4 packages delivered yesterday by 4 different carriers. If they would have been sent to the PO one truck could have delivered them all.

A private contractor. A Postal Service employee wouldn't touch anything without a stamp on it. And FedEx, UPS etc wouldn't pay USPS to deliver it either.

they have been doing that for the past few years . my girlfreind was working for the post office and she had to deliver those packages first before the mail so now the whole town dont get our mail till late at night . got a new job because it was too long of a day sometimes 6am till midnight

I am retired also I see it.........

Thats not the only thing, I always wrote a check and mailed my payments to where ever they needed to go. right now I pay everything but a few that were difficult to set up to pay online, mailed a payment on 12/24 and as of today 1/12 it has yet to make it to where I sent it. Had this problem during Covid but seemed to clear up after I stopped putting the mail into the drive up box in the parking lot of the post office now even tho I go inside and put it in the drop box inside the post office still they cannot deliver my payment,People dont seem to care about doing a good job anymore. The delivery people working for FEDX and Amazon are some of the worst drivers I have ever seen,They stop in the middle of the road and speed through the neighborhood.end of rant.

UPS picked up the tail lights that I removed from the Satellite on Monday at 5PM, had them delivered to Ohio yesterday (Wed) at 2PM !

The UPS handed over to the USPS at their San Leandro, CA. distribution terminal, a large mail envelope, with pictures in it, to be delivered to me thru the USPS.
Took them a month to get it to me, after that hand off.
All the carriers are screwed up.
I don't have any faith in any of them anymore.

The thing is, a person has paid X company to deliver a package and they are told it will arrive by Z time. When they, X company, pawns it off to another carrier, then it takes more time to be delivered and usually not on the day that X company said it would be.

USPS delivers all of the Amazon packages in this area. And on Sunday also.

Some days we won't get mail. They say they are short staffed and rotate their routes.

I ordered an electric scooter on line (I HATED that, the only way I could get it) from Costco. They said seven to ten working days for delivery. UPS ground left it on my front porch in a day and a half. I guess cause it was drop shipped from the manufacturer, 20 miles away.

Ya know, I've been noticing the lack of mail delivery, a day or two, now and then, since my regular mailman, is taking the whole month off as vacation time.
I think if they don't have any substitutes to cover the route, they just aren't delivering the mail, that day, and were not any wiser.

Our USPS arrives around 10:30 am.

I sometimes see multiple Amazon vans in our small 2.5 street neighborhood, passing each other making deliveries.
That can't be efficient.

Where is DHL still active?
I haven't seen them for a decade. I miss them. they were the one service I actually trusted and had better rates,
I did hear something about a stick of some sort involving them.
