Wondering if anyone can help me find a part number for this lil doo-dad heater control vacuum switch.

ooof.

What does that do?

Is it rebuildable?

Can't be much to it.

Looks like a vacuum switch to control an air door like for the defroster etc....?

Looks like the StratOvent control. Has a vacuum switch that shuts off the coolant flow to the core when in the vent mode. I'll see if I can find a number.

Yes I guess I should have mentioned what I beleive it is suppose to do eh? lol

I do beleive it controls both the valve on one of the coolant lines to the heater core as well as the vacuum can opening a vent on the heater box under the dash. I say beleive as the previous owner didnot have any of the vacume lines hooked up and although I have owned the car for over 10 years, I've never needed thateven this does as I tied the coolany line valve open so I could have heat whenever I needed it. So that being said there is no real reason for me to have this working but I would just like it to work and do whatever it was it was suppose to do. hahahahahaha

I think I may be able to rebuild it, it may just be missing a return spring

Hmm, wonder if that's why my defrost door isn't working.

Is your car a/c or non- a/c?

Whew, that was a tough one.
I believe it is called Heater door vacuum actuator w/ upper level vent. B bodys only part. 3441637

YY1 Its a non AC car
ODZKing I think that part number is for the vacuum accuator can itself but will dig deeper, thank you

Here are some mor pics... It looks as though as soon as you move the venting from the OFF position just further than the Heat position it should open the vacuum switch... I have to test it further to make sure

Will post more as I find out stuff, but wont be until at least the weekend

Moparmarks I typed in StratOvent into the ebag search and it showed an auction for the vent/heater assembly of 71-73 Fury/Polara/Monico and guess what! That lil doodad is part of that assembly though a different configuaration. This tells me I may be able to find something similar in another vehicle I may be able to adapt...

Here is a screen capture:
