I use to build them all the time, picked up a kit a month or so ago for the first time in 5 years. Been picking away at it whenever i have the time to, Didn't put much detail into the interior and I messed the paint up a bit but i'm happy with how it turned out. 1/25 scale 1968 Charger R/T 2 in 1 http://public.fotki.com/drasticplas...truction_sheets/revell-3/revell-68-dodge-cha/ could build it as a street or race version with the option of building the 440 or 426 HEMI, also came with a little engine stand if you decide to put the other engine together heh. Every piece exept for anything chrome comes as white plastic too.

A few pictures. Still not done, a bunch of little details left and the paint is kinda dirty in these pics lol

Got a couple of projects started;one is a replica of the '64 Dodge Polara 500 Max Wedge car with the Tri-Y manifolds featured in Mopar Action(-Muscle?) a couple of months ago. Kind of hard to work on models when the real car beckons.

Very nice i used to build them a long time ago i have dabbled with a few since but just don't have any patence anymore for them it seems heres a few pics of my collection most were built when i was between 12 and 15 [i'm 53 now].

Looks pretty good 'Doba. If you mess up the paint in the future, do what i do. Dunk it in a bucket of brake fluid for a while. When you pull it out, the paint wipes right off and doesn't harm the plastic!

nice models.used to build them a while back but my eyesight ain't what it used to be till i get stronger reading glasses.Have some models waiting to be built.

One thing that helped me before i started to wear bi-focals was the 5 dollar a pair of magnifying glasses that look like real glasses i would get at the dollar store.. They make like 3 or 4 different strength eye glasses.. Worked real well..

I got some from ehobbies.com Some from a member here.. I have a 67 GTX, 69 GTX, 68 RR and a 70 RR among a few more for winter next... Or bad days.. I put these together but the Challenger and Chevelle, both die cast.. If you have not tried that site, you may want to check them out.. They are pretty good, and have everything needed and more..

Nice collections, guys! I used to build them all the time as a kid back in the 70's and have not given up hope to go at it again. One hobby store owner liked the way I built them and made me a deal I couldn't refuse. He gave me a kit to build for display in his store and gave me one of equal value to keep. I went back some years later and he still had the green 71 Charger I built along with a couple of others.

My issue these days is time to set aside for it. I will also say it's a lot easier to put an engine in one of those than the real thing!! I'm sure I still have a few I built from back in the day that I squirreled away somewhere and will dig them out to get a few pics. This is going to bring back some good memories!

don't tell me some of yours ended up in a fiery crash due to poor driving.

Great looking model. I too did quite a few when I was a kid, but none turned out nearly as well as these pictured. Lacking talent, i turned to collecting [prebuilt] die casts, as well as a few resin kits. Love models and old toys!
Y'all just may inspire me to get a couple of kits and try my hand here...

When I lived in Alaska I built quite a few custom models, sorry no photos, this was back in the 80's, I use to buy 3, 4 or 5 to build one or two good ones, for good engine, blowers, rear axles, straight axles, big tires & rims etc., lots of 30's& 40's cars, lots of 60's cars, lots of big Monster Trucks & 4x4's, most cars had to have a Gasser look & big Hemi engines, like 392 & 426 Mopar Hemi's or Ford 427sohc & 429 shotgun Semi Hemi's engines, blown usually, I would do custom paint, paint bolt heads with a tooth pick & make custom wires, boxes, batteries, plumbing, hoses, belts, custom Plexiglas boxes & stands, the whole deal, I was really into the detail, I only lived a short distance from a great little hobby store, walk there a couple times a week, they loved me there, they would get anything I wanted... It was a great way to survive the long cold dark winters & working in the nice warm house, setting by the fire watching sports or racing, while drinking a beer & building models, teaching my niece & nephew about cars, while I watched my sisters 2 kids when she was in the Air Force working a second job or nights... It was a great way to pass the long nights away, the racing season there was really short, my cars were usually done, long before the season started, which was like the end of May if you were lucky, to the start of Sept. if the snow held off at Polar Raceway in Palmer, 3-4 months, I had to do something at night ,to keep my sanity & not get cabin fever... I usually I gave all of them to my young nephew, my niece was into dolls & books, more than cars, but she got a few too... When I moved back to Calif., he/my nephew, ended up destroying most of them, usually playing just with them, like any little 8-10 year old boy would do... Oh well, such is life...

Here's a list of some of the model i managed to get built back in the 70's
1957 MPC Corvette flip front end
1965 Corvette Fuel injection Corvette 1/8 scale
1940 ford pickup Monogram
1959 Corvette

This is the latest: 1/8 scale Mickey Thompson Revelleader funny car. I don't have the instructions for it.
