I'm building my second 66 belvedere. On this one I want to install wilder wheels and tires on the rear. I'm thinking about norrowing the rear end by about 1.5 inches on each side and using a spring relocation kit. How much trouble is it to install one of these kits?

I have the same car. I had a shop do the work for around 1600 including mini tubs. You didn't mention mini tubs. Without mini tubs, you may not be able to run a tire wide enough to make a difference. When you mini tub your car, install the inner wheel tub flush with the inside of the frame rail. Otherwise, the tire will still rub the top of the inside of the wheel well when the suspension articulates upward, causing the tire to move inward. My tubs are flush with the outside of the frame rail, and I will have to have a shop move my wheel well in another couple of inches. This is running a 29 x 12.5 (10.5 W) tire on a 15 x 10.

What I been doing, 66' Coronet... but same wheel well...

14.50 X 28 Hooser QT on a 15 X 10, 3400" S/S srings with floaters...

Looks interesting. How does this affect the back seat? Looks like a boatload of work. The wide tires really look good.

Narrow Rear Seat

You need to cut the back of the seat frame to make it work...
I've done it a couple of ways, but you really need to modify the seat covers to fit properly... looks really nice when its done and retain the rear seat.
Also in the past, used tubs, just not as clean/factory looking.
When I get done, the trunk will be finished as well trimming the factory mat and looking stock. :headbang:
The biggest PIA is making the fuel tank fit!!! Loosing the ability to run 3" exhaust all the way out to the rear bumper stinks too!
