Anyone know what kind of block this is?

Friend found this and is wondering what it is. I’ve looked and can’t find anything. Has super weird main caps.

Well, the cylinder head is a sb chevy.
Can't see enough of the block to determine.
The block is NOT a small block chevy!

Now that I have looked much closer at it,
the head stamping looks like the early SBC
Power Pak 283, 327 head. That's what it looks like.
