Are Factory Small Block Fuel Pumps All the Same?

I see Rock Auto lists the same fuel pump for '71-'72 318 and 340 engines (i.e. Carter M6866). Did the factory equip them the same also when new? Thank you.

As far as mounting yes. Inlet and outlet orientations can vary as well as the performance specifications.
