Why 600 HP? what is the application? Drag race only?
At 600 HP, you will want the forged stroker crank, not the cheap cast version.
As for the combination, need to know the application. I haven't built a combination like this, but I know a few guys who do small block strokers all the time.
That is how I know the cast cranks fail.
It's doable, in my opinion though you're talking about taking that engine to a pretty exteme limit.. Go to the search bar and type 408 and see what comes up... better yet you might go over to "FABO" and search it over there, as a lot of those guys are running those 408 combos... Might give you a better idea of what to expect
I've had two friends with the cast stroker 408 engines where the engines ran great, until they broke the cranks. Both those were Edelbrock headed, roller camed engines.
It's not that hard. You need a good crank (I'd use forged but have several Scat/MP cast making close or more than 600), enough heads, enough cam, enough intake and carb. You need about $10K for a dyno'd ready to drop in deal assuming your block is good enough.
