B body quarter panel end piece??? Name??

I'm drawing a blank on the correct name of the body piece which goes on the end of the quarter and is shaped like a sideways U. It has 3 or 4 studs you put nuts on in the inside of the trunk. Approx
10"x10"x10" - 4th side is open.

Now to my question LOL..

Is there a gasket which goes between that piece and the quarter panel?

It's called the quarter panel extension, there are some gaskets made to go between them and the quarter however i found none of them are sufficient in sealing off the end as well it will at times take a lot of modification of the extensions to fit the quarter panels shape because of such deviations between the cars and the castings. best of luck finding them!

Mine did not have a gasket but had some sealer between it and the quarter panel, presumably to keep water from leaking in at the studs.

I got a set from Detroit Muscle cars, they make them for all different models. They are used to control squeaks. Our 60's cars where not very precise in construction. A great deal of Detroit Lager was consumed to control the pain from working the Iron horse all day.
