This was in the the trunk of the car when we purchased the 1972 Plymouth SSP. It appears a prior owner was going to use it on the four barrel carb conversion and then decided to use the Edelbrock performer 383, instead. It's clean has the choke, vacuum port and has been painted silver..
This came in the trunk with our 1972 Plymouth SSP which was born with a 400 CID Big Block. The 400 replaced the 383 in 1972. I am not positive that this intake will fit the 383/400, i'm just indicating what I found doing a search on the casting number. It may actually fit a 440 RB Block! Please do your own research prior to purchasing this part!!!

383 and 440's do not interchange. it's either a 383/400 (B) engine intake or 440 (RB) they are different

Your original research was correct. This is a factory 440 manifold for a thermoquad (spreadbore) carburetor from 75-76. Fits RB engines, not B engines (383-400).

I guess thiis probably why P.O. did not use it and I have no use for it. Someone should want it....
