I just installed a Auto steering column in the Belvedere (66) there was a switch on the top of the column under the dash. This is where a pin comes out of the column and moves with the shifter. I believe this to be the backup light switch but am unsure. mopar part number 2661167. Any ideas, does this double as the neutral safety start switch. Does anybody have a replacement?

i may be in the very same predicament with a 66 belvy also...ill let you know what i find!

ok wondering if any 66 mopar would have the same switch?

All '65-'67 column-shift automatic Mopars use that same type of reversing light switch, though there are several part numbers (2661 167 for all column auto '65s and all column auto '66s except C-bodies use 2770 945; all '67 column autos use 2857 240 except Imperial).

Check what you're doing carefully; sometimes the finger extending outward from the shift tube inside the column falls apart so the switch might be fine but nothing's there to operate it.

Switch actually is broken out at front of switch, thanks.
