So after posting up my wtb ad, I realized I was mistaken and needed to refresh my antique memory with what all my car had and didn't have. What I really could use is pictures of under the dash, specifically the reverse light switch wiring. Also, I need to know if a 66 neutral safety switch will work in a later model trans with the 3 prong switch. I am attaching pictures of what I have. I figured out that I just grounded my nss wire to the firewall, and I would like to put the correct NSS into this trans so I can hook up my NSS wire properly.
So the reverse wiring is what I don't have and need info on. Here is what I have. I need to know where the unpinned gray wire I'm holding goes to. Any help would be greatly appreciated

center pin on the 3 pin is ground in park and neutral.
simply attach relay terminal ( lower right spade , brown wire on your relay ) for relay proper operation

Switch on your column shift car is backup lights

Should be able to hook those 2 with the outer pins on the nss and eliminate the column switch.. not stock but better

I would like to know if the 66 switch can replace the one that's in there. Yeah, I figured out the reverse switch, just been a long time since I messed with this car. I need pics of the woring under the dash and on the firewall for the reverse lights with a column shift.

" I think" the rooster comb ( aka manual lever ) in the trans is different.

You have a correct 66 trans pull its pan and compare ????

edit, the trans in MY car is a 1970 model. and it has the correct 66 NSS.
But I do not know " IF " the manual lever has been changed , or not.

Ok, so maybe the nss only hits the neutral and park part of the rooster tail, I seem to remember from my fog of a b tree ain that the nss and reverse combo switch had an extra part in it that extended or was tripped in a different fashion than the neutral sense was. Worse case is I try it and it doesn't work.

Dredging the memory bank, think the “rooster comb”(?) doesn’t have the plastic thing on it for early NSS switch only. Plastic is on for the 3-prong switch.
