Back in the day, everytime the movie was shown on television, my 70 Challenger R/T 383 magnum 4 speed car would get the living schit beat out of it! I finally destroyed the clutch trying to emulate those full throttle speed shifts!

I know most all of the route the movie took. 1971 Denver on West Colfax (Note the Dodge City dealership!). Glenwood Canyon on the old US 6 route (now I-70/US-6). The "No Name" exit (real!). Cisco, Utah. Austin, Nevada. Pretty damned cool. I saw the movie at the drive-in in 1971. Dad didn't like it. Mom loved it!

Remember when the 2nd version came out with a famous actor no less, what a let down that flick was. Viggo must have needed the paycheck bad...
