Been an interesting week of freeze no power and water

After relaxing all day yesterday, I'm just now starting to feel like I haven't been dragged behind a bus and I didn't have any water/pipe damage either and if there was any, it should have showed up by now. There's lots of other members here that are from Texas and got hammered way worse than people in my area. At least my power only went down for 24 hours and that was within just a couple of minutes.....didn't even have to reset my analog clocks. My biggest down side was my generator crapped out but found another within 8 hours of the power going out. That was a Godsend!! Never completely lost water either but the pressure got pretty low. Any others care to check in?
Good to hear it wasn’t too bad sir! I’ve got to say, I’m not surprised to hear of all the water issues. I’ve got friends near Austin, they called me about frozen water lines. Asked if pex was better than copper. I know pex actually is more resistant to bursting than copper but in your situations it’s pretty much inevitable. Glad all is good! Take care!

No water for four days early on, but generous application of heat lamps in the wellhouse and the water heater closets (shop and house) fixed things without drama. The one spot that just didnt want to thaw was tough to access, but it thawed, too.

Electricity was uninterrupted, but one mile down the street...they were down for a day or so. Nothing like the October ice storm that left an inch of ice on powerlines and killing power for a week plus. The generator stayed busy! Prepping for ice and snow is much like prepping for tornado season. Same precautions and such. Too easy.
