72 Charger changed from bench to buckets. PO just drilled holes. Not safe and need proper brackets and hardware. I have searched and can only find 68-70 repopped. Is there another source and just what parts are needed? Sherman makes a part called FT Floor support brace front and rear. I don't that is for the seat. Any ideas? Thanks

They aint nothing special.Cut out some 1/8" plates, drill a hole in them and weld them to the floor and there you go.

I converted my 72 from bench to buckets. As mentioned above all you need is 4 pieces of 1/8" steel. IIRC they only reinforced the brackets on the inside rails, not the outer ones. The metal is 3"x5". When I pulled the seats out of a 71 Charger SE in my friends boneyard and pulled the carpet back the brackets in that car weren't even welded in. I would recommend welding them in.
If you don't have any metal drop by your local body shop at the end of the day with a six pack. Odds are you can make an even trade.

I used thick fender washers (or double up on the thin ones) from my local Ace/True Value Hardware store on the under side.

My 5th Ave parts car doesn't have any inner bracket reinforcing for it's heavy buckets.
It did have very large and very thick captive washers on the nuts.
About twice as large and 1.5 times as thick as the ones on my 66.
I just used those on the transplanted seats in my 66 (along with the correct tracks for a 66/67) and they aint goin' no where!

PM me I have a factory set already out of a car...

Does anybody have the seat brackets and tracks? I traded for a set which I believed to be original but found to have cheap cheesy brackets on them which are not right.
