I have a 1968 RR 4 speed car. Been thinking of converting to automatic but I want to retain my bench seat and don’t want a column shifter. Anybody know if I can mount a floor shifter without bucket seats ?

I did that some years ago for a bracket-car build. Used a Cheetah shifter, mounted to an aluminum plate, which I attached using the 4-sped boot screw locations.
It was a no-cut operation, but I did have to drill a hole for the shifter cable.

Contact Winters Shifters.
I'ts a cable type. Installed
in my latest custom build.
Zero complaints. Works
great. Very robust, with
many options on mounting
and shift patterns.
I can help you set this up.
It can be mounted directly
to the floor or on a console
they supply. If you decide
to go this route, I will give
you the console. I didn't
need it.
