I’m wondering what the best modern carburetor is for a mild built 383 HP for my 69 Super Bee? Automatic car with basically a stock stall converter and 3.55 sure grip. Running stock exhaust manifolds in 2.5 inch exhaust system.

Old carter avs off a 440 or 383!
Or a new thunder series Avs by edelbrock, just buy a tuning kit and you’ll be happy..

650 cfm Edelbrock would be good. With stock converter and manifolds, I think 750 might be too much. I always jet the secondaries up one size.

If your car was mine and i was looking for a carb for it.... i would buy an electric choke 650 avs-2 from edelbrock. I like the annular boosters.
For a different car, a different recommendation .

Just trying to figure out the best way to go. I have a date coded carburetor for it however it’s gonna cost about the same to get that one restored as it’s going to cost me for a brand new carburetor. Just wasn’t sure if the more modern carburetors worked better than the old ones

I've been looking into the AVS2. Do you (or anyone else) have any experience with those. I like the idea of the annular boosters, but "new" doesn't necessarily mean better. I'm hoping someone here has been running one. Buehler?

To me a 'modern' carb is one that has a fresh kit in it :D but so far, the best street carb I ever had was a 71 TQ which was on a 71 340 Cuda. Don't know if there's any decent kits out there for them but once you learn how to work on them, they are sweet and can produce good manners with good mpg's.

Go with what 33 said - Manual or Electric

The AVS-2 is honestly the best Carter/Edelbrock Carb I have ever ran on the street
Those annular boosters are so damn smooth off idle and cruise - Very responsive

They also make the 650cfm in powder coat black also as an option

I run the 800cfm AVS-2

383/432 Edelbrock E Street 75cc Heads

Is that the 19063?

Got a for sale ad for a 600 cfm eddie. Clean it up an add gaskets. All gaskets removed and pretty sure I cleaned gasket surfaces. $50 plus shipping.
