Bill Cosby - 200 MPH

"Fat Alberts Car" and "my dads car" are two of my favs along with "Driving in San Fransisco"

cool stuff meeps

You know?
Bill Cosby had a extremely rare car!
He had 1 of the 2 "427 AC Shelby's" with a supercharger built by Carroll Shelby! Shelby only built 2!
The other car was crashed and the original owner died in it. This car was an automatic (I think)
Bill Cosby now owned the only one left. His was the 4-speed.
He sold it back to Shelby, his quote was: "it was scary fast"

BTW, this car was auctioned at either Mecum OR B-Jackson a few years ago. It went for something like 2 or 3 mil.

So yeah, he was a car fan way back in the early 60's.

Here is some info on the car and it's twin. Bill Cosby had the automatic for sure and I think both were for that matter.

"To claim that the reconstructed 3303 is an "air-car" is to misconstrue the terminology. An air-car is a car literally built from thin air, i.e. by someone with NO claim whatsoever to the car or its VIN. In the case of 3303, the wrecked chassis remains were sold to Gordon Gimbel in 1975 by Bob Sbarbaro, the person who acquired them from a scrap yard after Tony Maxey had his accident. Gimbel received a California pink slip for the car and sold the rights to it to Brian Angliss, who subsequently rebuilt it from the paperwork up. Given that the ownership trail is clear and well-documented, the reconstructed car is not properly termed an air-car, although it can accurately be called a reproduction."
