Fellow bird nerds unite! I'm a self-confessed bird nerd, myself, and I suspect some of you are as well. The Mrs. gave me a large hanging suet feeder to attract Pileated Woodpeckers after we had one on the birch tree in our yard a few years ago. Downey and Hairy Woodpeckers, Chickadees, Nuthatches, and other birds frequent this feeder, but today we finally saw a Pileated Woodpecker on it for the first time. A huge, impressive bird who can do big time damage to dead trees.

And homes. I’ve been dealing with one for two years now. Bastard pecked two holes in my attic. Hell one of the holes looks like a self portrait. I repaired them last week.

I have two suet + seed feeders on shepard's hooks and a window seed tray feeder along with a 14" heated bird bath. My peeps love my backyard lol

Lately been getting a rather boisterous Bluejay going for the seed in the window tray.

A very impressive bird! Our feeders attract the smaller woodpeckers, but have not yet brought a Pileated in. We have them in our area, but I have not seen one up close. Good for you!
We live near the North shore of Lake Erie, which is a fall migratory route for many birds, including raptors. In the fall, we see many variety of hawks. We have Bald Eagles nesting locally, and see them quite often. The strangest sighting at our back yard water feature was a Virginia Rail. Thanks for your pictures.

I have a couple feeders out all year. Mom and Pop Cardinal hangs around all year. We get a couple Orioles in the spring and a few Goldfinches as well. Summer is a lot of house finches. The black capped Chickadees hang around a lot too. There is a pair of Barred Owls that hang around the neighborhood. And of course, Humming birds all summer. Sad to see them go in the fall.

I like watching at my bird feeder. Had a Bald Eagle do a fly bye. Now for bad birds woodpeckers. My house and the across the street neighbor had wood siding. I was Ok the neighbors house was hit looked like shotgun practice target. Then he put aluminum siding on it, then my house was the target. $17,000 later vinyl siding fixed them.

I like to look at birds, most birds,
hawks horned owls eagles' turkey vultures soaring above
or falcons & redtail hawks nesting behind US,
falcons attacking the redtails when they get too close, quite the sights
or the bluejays sparrows hummingbirds, in the AM, in my back yard fenced area
even the crows, blackbirds when they behave

Birds that don't do any damage to my property or trees surround it

I have a hatred for the bastards that are ruining my house
my decks/railings, trim & eves, thousands of $$$'s worth of damages
