Blair tools

OK, let's resurrect this...

Which style works best for you guys-

The pin center or the "no skip" drill bit center?

I used the HF one a few times. It's pin center and it skipped around a lot.

Is it the cutters or the arbor that makes Blair the best?

Do the cuters fit on the HF arbor?

There is an ebay seller that has the arbor and one cutter for $32 and free shipping, and a set of 3 cutters also for $31.

The Blair site has the kit with arbor and three cutters for $49 plus $15 shipping.

Using the ebay seller, you get 4 cutters but no box for $2 less.

I use the Rotabroach style with the spring loaded pin. Works well.. Once in a while I hit the pin on my bench grinder just to sharpen the tip

I dont think we touched on this, but I ALWAYS use a spring-loaded center punch to dimple all my welds prior to drilling. This keeps my Blair center point from skating. Lil' extra effort, but it does pay for itself.

anyone try pilot bits?I found some on e pay ,four for $12,free shipping, made in usa, work very good.
