Block Sand this Charger?

if you are just doing a driver i would use whatever cleaning products work to get the crap off of the paint then remove the rest of that vinyl top and all the trim door handles and things like that. do a really good check on the cowl area where the door hinges are on the car and the k frame on the drivers side where the rear iso bolt is if it seems solid it is worth doing. i used a grinder and some 36 in the rough spots and a da with 80 grit to strip most of my panels. i blasted under the hood and my door jambs i used a presure pot to do my own blasting, use a respirater with that crap it is nasty! the trick is to get it all down to metal as much for good paint adheision as to find any surprises! it takes time but is worth it!

Media blasting is the best way to go but for the outside a 8" da also called a mud hawg works great for striping the panels but like has been said do not get them too hot move around. 60 or 80 grit works nice then either git it in etch prime or epoxy primer rite away. do one panel at a time and do not let it sit bare if you have to leave it for a while before you are done spray a little bomb can etch on it. Also You definatly want to find out what is going on underneath first dont spend a lot of time on the outside if your rails and structure are rotten.

Bucks down, I used paint stripper first. No sand blasting except for parts.. My 69 GTX is in this forum --Continuing my restoration with some pics....

Is there any way of leaving it in a Bare Metal State permenatly? Like mad max/rat rod style. I have no garage. Just gonna make this car a drivable project.
