The bottom of a 1970 GTX is suppose to be undercoated ,body color, red oxide with over spray of body color , slop gray over spray body color or other ??
My 70 runner appeared to be body color + undercoat. I scraped off 100% of the old undercoat by hand about a year ago and I don't recall seeing any primer.
The paint coverage was not that great underneath, but they would have been body color unles ordered with undercoating. Most restos have too much undercoating, and the paint is way too nice on the bottom of the car. Mopars were notoriously bad in terms of body fit and finish. I've seen mostly red oxide primer but I think grey was used too.
I'm thinking a '70 should be mostly dip grey with some body colored overspray from when they painted the rockers (assuming it wasn't a factory undercoated car).
