So I'm replacing a leaky master cylinder and when I took it off the brake booster one of the studs has been broken off can I get away with just 3 or should I pull the brake booster out and replace it ?

Dryheat is spot on. Don't take the slightest risk on your braking system. Fix it right, the neighborhood cats will appreciate it.

Is there a way to spot-weld a piece of threaded rod onto that broken booster stud? It wouldn't have to be perfect & you could oblong-out one of the master cylinder holes if it wasn't exactly straight.

Personally I would replace the stud or the booster. I do not ever like taking short cuts when it comes to my braking system.
Ya I know
