My 66 Coronet 440 has a 318 Poly engine and the broadcast shows the trans as a number "5" and rear axle as a "2". What do these numbers mean?

Thanks for the info Remcharger but I was wondering if it would show if it had the A904 or A727 trans ?5 means auto, 2 is 2.94 gears
Not too sure... but I'm thinking the 727 was the only one available with a poly. You can of course look at the pan. Thanks for the info Remcharger but I was wondering if it would show if it had the A904 or A727 trans ?

Thanks Dave, excellent information, definitely answered my question.318 Poly had 727 in 1966. The 318 Poly carried through 1967 in Canada, and still had a 727. The LA318 was introduced in 1967 in U.S.A., and 1968 in Canada. For passenger use, they came with 904. 727 input shaft size and spline count changed from 1966 to 1967. 904 input shaft size and spline count changed from 1967 to 1968.
