Built vs Bought

I would have loved to restore my car but didn’t have the time and probably not enough skills. Besides I wanted to drive it before they put me in the box. But I do have great respect for those who do it themselves. Maybe when I retire for good I’ll grab something and give it a shot.

When she finds out you actually bought your hot

When I was living in the Chicago area in the 1990s, I used to attend the Kruse auction in Auburn, Indiana with a fellow Imperial club member, who was a law student at the time. We would try to see who could spot the oldest guy with the youngest woman, and then try to guess what he would bid on.

Factory Five?
There is legitimacy to the guys that personally built their cars having animosity towards the "Bought" crowd.
Sure, some of us farm out body and paint or the engine build but this topic harkens back to high school where regular kids struggled to put their car together while the kids with rich parents bought them some new sports car....and the entitled kid bragged about how great he was.
Nobody liked that guy. It was like he was born on 3rd base and thought he hit a triple.
Nowadays, there are similar instances where some money guy buys a car and sweeps through the car show circuit. He can't check the oil without watching a YouTube video of it but hey...it sure is pretty.
He could be out on the road with it and have a 1 dollar part fail and he can't figure out how to get it running.
I just can't respect that.

yeah but, we had a rich guy in my home town that his dad bought him bigger and better than anyone else , everyone hard him behind his back , and joked about him all the time ...
