Hi guys,
1971 Charger SE, hideaway headlights. I was testing the headlight motor by running jumpers straight from the battery. Sure enough the motor worked, but it made a lot of noise. I figured i would keep looping it open and shut while spraying lube around the connector rods that open the doors. Well, I guess I was working the little motor too much, and all of a sudden a ZAP noise was heard and a curl of smoke came out of the motor! Needless to say, it didn't work after that.
Am I toast? Can my motor be repaired, or do I need to buy a replacement? I was thinking about taking it to an electric motor service place in my neighborhood.
Thanks!
Sam
