buying a HEMI

So I have a question about my brake booster. Presently im running power drums on my 67 R/T. Will my brake booster fit with the HEMI? If not can I just convert to manual brakes with the master cylinder I already have? Or do I need to switch to a smaller booster?

Power brake boosters will fit on a Hemi car.
The original style booster, late 60s was the "Bendix" style.
It sat "up" close to the firewall (B-bodies)
These are available today, new in box.

Id need to see pics of your set-up.

A guy in Texas, known as the RAM-Man sells the set-up (restored Bendix style) as does a "new" supplier.
I can not remember the name of the new suppler.

Check out my "Master Power" set-up.
It is essentially a "GM" conversion...YUCK.
BUT: If I were to do it again, I would go "original-style" as mentioned above.

NIce install. I am doing the same its from MBM Brakes the manufacturer in North Carolina. I will add one item. A pair of flex hoses from master Cylinder to brake divider block. Then you can easily move master cylinder wheny ou want to do a Valve adjustment.. I think MBM has a web site on Ebay call Pirate jack when they sell left overs and they have them on their with bracket for under 160.00 with booster and master cylinder...

If I wanted to convert to manual brake what exactly would I need? A master cylinder, rod and anything else?

That booster you have will likely not fit with the HEMI. The Hemi cars got an offset bracket and a Bendix booster and even then you are not getting that #7 plug out without moving the booster out of the way. Go manual disks or even the 11x3" drums will stop well enough. You will need a push rod. Also verify the clearance between the push rod tip and cup in the MC. Should be about .030". If too tight then the brakes will lock up when the fluid gets hot.

Here's an adjustable pushrod with 'mopar' style head that worked great with my manual disc brake setup. And not a bad price from The Right Stuff.

I have the manual backing plate and that push rod if you want to buy them.

Here's a pic from the FSM that shows the bracket/linkage attached to the booster you would need. If going that route, the only person that I can think of that could get you that stuff is the Ramman.
