I like American license plates, beyond what is written above ... they are picturesque, nothing to do with European plates (sigh) beyond common sense, freedom of thought / opinion, first of everything...

I like our polar bear plates. For CAN$165 I can get personalized. Not sure what to get for my ‘70 wanna bee. We’re only allowed six letters so it very well may be WANNAB.
My original thought was to get a personalized plate frame that said “Old McDonald had a farm” and then a plate that said EIEIO.
BTW I gave away a bunch of polar bear plates but still have lots. I get them from work and wrecks at the dump. If anybody wants one I’ll send you one for free. PM me. It’s not a scam, lots of guys here have got them and I never stole their soul.

To be be fair here, I don't think the common person would consider the three examples given to be incredibly offensive and the DMV probably should not have turned them down. Of course the DMV has a reputation for making fair decisions, so I don't know how that could have happened

Just yesterday I was at the store and parked in front of me was a car with plates that read,
"EIEI NO".
