My GF bought a backpack-carry sprayer for weeds. Powered by a 24 volt lithium ion battery. Made (supposedly) in USA.
Well, either the charger or the battery is garbage. Zero charge whatever. The monitor light on the charger comes on, the battery charge indicator on the battery never moves
After two overnight attempts to charge, battery voltage is 0.0 volts. Measured with my VOM.
I have no idea where she got this, if there is any warrantee, or parts availability, and the battery is EXCLUSIVE to this brand (according to GF)
So since the battery terminals are accessible and clearly marked + and -, I thought a couple 12v car batteries in series could charge it.
Opinions please. Will this work? Will it not? Will it blow up in my face? Will it burn down my garage?
(I charge my lithium electric scooter 100 feet from the house/garage.)
Responses welcome, thanks guys.

I wouldn't mess around with a lithium ion battery.
Only use the recommended charger.

I’m a mech eng not an electric eng, but lithium ion batteries do require unique voltage and amperage gradients for charging compared to AGM and or traditional lead acid batteries. It sounds like you need either a new batter or a charger. A fire or personal injury is not worth the risk IMO.
