Can Someone idenyify this planetary

This is on ebay, NOS Rear Planet Carrier & Pinion 1967-1974 Dodge Chrysler Plymouth Mopar 2801180 | eBay
can anyone run the part number 2801180 and tell me if its for a 727 or 904 and for what years?

Not sure, it appears to be a 727 low/medium performance 3 pinion planetary. HP versions mostly were 4 pinion.

No expert but I wonder about those casting chipped out areas around the roll pins? Here is mine which was a 727 4 gear pinion. I wonder if instead of NOS that it's been dissassembled and somehow rebuilt. Think I would pass - but again I'm no expert. Might PM DVW for his opinion.

I replaced mine with a new 5-pinion planetary due to excess wear on the back shoulder that increased end play. 5-pinion is overkill but it appeared to be the best new product I found at the time. It took care of my low-gear whine.

DVD is clearly an expert on 727's. Not sure why he prefers the 3 pinion, but he knows his stuff.

The PN I have for the 65-up 727 rear planetary is: 2466539. Now the 2801180 could be a superseding number, I don't know.

I believe those areas allow easier oil access to the thrust washer.
