On a 440 power break GTX what side of the master cylinder do the break lines come out of? Also what is the orange box with wires coming out of it next to the voltage regulator and below the resister on the fire wall?
 
Can't answer the mc question but the Orange box is a Mopar electronic ignition...
 
The tubes come out in the driver side down to the the proportionimg block.
 
Do all 1970 cars have the electronic ignition or just some ?
 
Ah, no that box is an aftermarket deal through Mopar performance. They have a gold box too which is a hotter spark I believe.
 
No just some it's a popular upgrade that is done to them very cheap upgrade with alot of reward
 
I see so many pictures of cars with the box is why I wondered. So the 70 cars had a regular point type distributor . Thank you all

Yes, the orange box was the basic upgrade over points and later year lean burn systems. Next up the scale was the chrome street strip box. Then there was the gold race box.

The Chrome box is an excellent unit.
The Gold box should see very limited street use. It is recommended not to use it more than 30 minutes in the street. Each box has a matching cool recommended for max return.

The orange box as of recently, the last few years has a crap reputation of failure when it is not under performing.

There are also a few people making and marketing there own boxes with very good success. Don from FBO (4secondsat.com) has a really excellent box and there is the revenator. Also an excellent box. IIRC, you can find the renevnator at manciniracing.com.

Typically, the stock mounting location for the ignition boxes are just off center on the passenger side of the firewall. The ballast resistor is to the side of it, close by.

The master cylinder answer above is also correct. But do pay attention to the correct master cylinder look. There are also bore/piston size differences. The equal pedal feel/effort.

Though I am not totally sure, there maybe different looks to the master cylinder as well due to how the car is equipped. Drum/drum or disk/drum.
 
All 70's where points (six pack and Hemi engines where dual points), most cars got the orange box upgrade by the late seventies.
I believe that only the Hemi engines got the master cylinder with the lines going out the drivers side, all others went out the engine side.
 
OK I got one drivers side and two passenger side for brake lines out of the master cylinder now what do I do ???
 
Lines come out of the drivers side. I'm no Mopar encyclopedia like some guys here, but I did a hell of s lot of research when replacing my MC and seems to me everyone of them had driver side exit.
 
I can't speak for all Mopars but the brake lines going into the Master cylinder on my '68 Coronet with 318 engine and manual brakes go in on the driver side, the same on my '69 Super Bee with 383 engine and manual brakes. But on my '70 Charger with 440 Six Pack engine and Power brakes the lines enter on the passenger side.
