Are the 340 carbs different than the 440 ? And other than maybe jetting what is the different?

Venturi sizes are the same between 340 and 440. Metering plates holes are different and air bleeds may be. I have not checked that. The hole in the outboard throttle plates is different. A 340 is #199 and .055”. A 440 is #226 and .079”. A 199E plate is also .079. The only center carb that is different is a 69.5 440 4391 manual trans. It has a 225 plate with .079 hole.
