Tried it and did not work. Pulled the drivers side torsion bar unbolted header and starter falls out.
Wasted 4 hours trying the motor mount method and starter was still stuck between header and block or header and torsion bar.
Sorry it didn't work for you. I've changed my starter many times and always used the method I described to you. I never tried taking off the torsion bar. May I should have. Glad you got the starter out and the good news is you now have a tried and true method. Unfortunately you do lose that iconic Chrysler cranking sound when you switch to a mini. I always liked that too.
