Changing steering column questions 73 Satellite

Hey guys

Need some guidance. I would like to swap my column shifted satellite to a floor shifter. I have the replacement column from a floor shifted car. I will be running an after market floor shifter with cable.

My question is ... How do I go about circumventing the neutral safety switch?

How do I rewire the back up lights?

I did the same in an E body. Auto trans and all, the shifter came with all the micro switches for backup light connection and neutral safety switch hookup. It came with diagrams and written explanation for connectivity. Mine was a B&M floor shifter. Went in smooth and works great.

I did the swap on mine and didn't have to change anything since I believe those signals come from the transmission and not the shifter.

Aftermarket shifers usually get the reverse light switch option... but you can stick/keep with the original setup your car got, running to tranny, so despite the aftermarket electric system
