I have seen mention of the charcoal canister on the 71-74 B-bodies being removed (eliminated) I was just curious as to what the "Correct" procedure was to completely ELiminate the charcoal canister without any negative effects to the vehicle. Taking it out is easy....but what do I do to completely eliminate it from the system?

You can either get under the car and unbolted/remove the hard lines all the way back to the tank and make or buy a small filter to keep trash out of the tank. Or, you can seal the whole bizness up tight and use a vented gas cap.
Don't drop the canister on your foot, it's heavier than it looks.

I removed the one in my A body, and all I did was get a small, cheap plastic fuel filter and stuck it in the line to keep dirt and dust from getting in there.
