So, I just thought I'd share this beauty with everyone. I just got back from a Labor Day car show in Naperville, Illinois at 87th street and Route 59. The guy said he used a Coronet top and hardware. Enjoy!

Looks great. One of my friends built a Superbird ragtop. It actually looks good.

He said he put frame connectors on it to make it "stiffer".

wow!
and damn! had i known, woulda taken the 'vert out

I'm rather surprised that Dodge didn't offer this in the first place. Looks real nice.

I have no Idea what it actually looks like with the top up, but I'm gonna look for a pic of a Coronet convertiblee now!

I opened this thread thinking "Oh boy, what kind of hack job do we have here" but damn, that car looks good.

Doing a search, I noticed how many people wanted to drive what Mopar wouldn't build.

I saw the car in person, and I was really impressed with the workmanship of the car! The paint even had some ground glass or twinkely
stuff in it that was very subtle. I guess there are a few of these out there! Thank's for the pic's.

I wonder if it would be easier to hang Charger sheetmetal on a Coronet convertible rather than have to engineer all the convertible bits.

My opinion , too 5wnd. much easier to swap front clip and quarters than do the cutting and chopping to install a vert roof and get everything to fit . I wouldn't be surprised that a lot are done like that , however the problem of switching vin tags comes into play here which apparently is a felony ? But who knows maybe they are all Chargers .

I don't think that would be an issue since they never officially made a Charger convertible, one could just leave it tagged as a Coronet. It's not like you hurt the "originality" of a car they never made.

i could not be happier with mine...dad bought a new charger in 68...i was six..charger in the blood!!!
