Looking to see if there's any info as to what wires got which tape.

None get sticky electric tape originally.

The original tape on some harnesses look like electrical tape but is non adhesive and thinner.

Some got the cloth tape....

Some had a cloth mesh covering....

All harnesses are shown in my build thread.....

Thanks Justin! Trying my best to correct the little things wrong on my car. Wish we could break your thread into chapters.

Always inspect what you have....

It is hard with 50 plus pages to pick things out.....

Search eBay and look at originals listed for sale etc...or Google....

My tape came from Frank Badalson....

They what is called harness tape,a little more expensive but doesn't get sticky and stays on great.

The harnesses I have redone for my 69 RR were originally wrapped with 3/4" wide and most of what is available is 1". For whats it worth.

Agree with all the above and with extensive experience there's nothing better or close than genuine 3M elec tape when you have to use it.

I think I got some of the harness non sticky tape from mega parts.

Sorry This is what I used and worked great

Even I bought the non sticky original tape, didn't buy enough on my Carlisle visit back in 2008 for the full car so I ended using 3M scotch selfbonding tape I found locally on mostly parts of my harnesses and still have storaged the non sticky tape around... I didn't take care of a FULL correctness, but just close enough. It resist heat and solvents and is hard to beat

Scotch Super 33 if you want good electrical tape.

Does the Scotch 33+ tape have an adhesive (is it sticky)? I have only used the sticky tapes in the past. Never trusted a product that wasn't a little gooey.

check out permatex #85120 liquid electrical tape. great for those hard to reach places.
