I have used the search feature and come dry. My apologies if this has been answered, just indicate the link to me.

The clutch in my Charger has become oil contaminated due to a leak. I wish to replace it with a stock style B&B. Being as it is a stock '69 426 it is equipped with a 172 tooth flywheel, 11" clutch and 18 spline trans. The current clutch is a Hays which appears to no longer be available. The only B&B style I can find is Ram and I cannot determine if this will work with the somewhat rare 172 tooth flywheel. I did just notice that Hays (Holley) lists an 11" B&B, but only in 23 spline, however, they due list an 11", 18 spline disc separately, not available until August. Any suggestions, experiences good or bad?

I do not want a diaphragm style and removal of the over center spring. Stock B&B setup only.

give Dan at Brewers Performance a call. He will have an answer for you I am sure. I have a Mcleod dual disc in my 66 from them, but I am sure he has something for a single disc application.

Someone just posted about having their OEM B&B pressure plate and clutch rebuilt. It was just a few days ago so do a quick search
 
The 11 inch clutch disc (18 spline) will work with the original 11 inch flywheel the number of teeth (172) only requires the correct starter motor.

I also only use B&B

Make sure if you replace the clutch bearing, you use your collar. The 66-9 Hemi collar is shorter than the 440 or 70 & newer Hemi.

I was aware of that. I had to machine one years ago to fit. My car is a bit of a challenge as it has one of those early nodular iron or cast steel scattershields. I just checked my log book and this Hays unit has 15000 miles on it until it got contaminated.
 
Is your bellhousing an old Ansen bellhousing style scatter shield? That is what I have in my 66 currently.

Not sure of the manufacturer. The only markings visible are:
CHRYS-426
HEMI

I believe there may be a 1964 date cast in it that I cannot see when it is in the car. I did have to machine the input bearing opening larger to fit the '69 bearing retainer. That material is hard! Sparks flying from the carbide cutter on the Bridgeport when it was being machined.

Put a straight edge across your pressure plate disc. if not warped, a machine shop can do a resurface. Then only need a disc. If you go new, you need a pressure plate that has the 12.625" bolt pattern to fit your flywheel.
 
I see this is an old post, did you get this figured out? You could use anyone's clutch disc, just clean the oil from the pp, unless the face got messed from slippage.
